So I have this job answering phones for BYU Independent Study. The only problem is that I have worked in this office for over 16 hundred hours in the past year, and I will work here another 600-something hours this summer. Same office, same questions answered, same "crazy" student situations. I'm kind of ready to learn something else. The only productive thing I'm doing is making $8 an hour, which isn't very much. I want to be learning things and improving myself and having good experiences before I am old and married and graduated.
I wish... I had a better job, I had money to take classes, I could find other hobbies to do in the evenings, I could travel to some cool place, I could use my actual talents and brain power to make the money I need, etc. Seriously. I work harder studying than I do at my job, and I have to pay to go to school. What is that all about? If I want to be more productive, I have to give up all the money I am earning.
It's not really all that bad. My job is fine, and I am good at it. During the school year it allows me to study at work. And at least I'm not working at Old Navy. That was bad. Here at least I can read or listen to music or shop for clothes that I don't need in my spare time. Anyone have any good books I should add to my list for the summer?
