Excited!

It's Springtime! I'm working at Independent Study, and I really like it a lot. I work with so many fun people, and I can do whatever I want in my down time! I study, listen to music, read blogs, talk to work friends, and eat. And I get paid for it! I've written so many papers that I've gotten paid to write, and I've had time to write missionaries too! Although, soon it'll be getting busy for "Rush", when high school students are going crazy trying to meet graduation deadlines. Then I'll be on the phones all day! I'm excited. I actually love helping customers! I feel so useful and I get lots of praise from my supervisors. I'll be working at IS full-time over spring and summer, and hopefully I can put most the money I make aside for tuition, mission funds, study abroad funds, laptop funds...etc.
If my rent is 120/month, and I have to buy food, I shouldn't spend more than $300-$350/month on anything. Hopefully I can put almost $3,000 aside! That would be a life saver.
Over the summer my two priorities are: Work and Exercise. I'll be working from 9-6 every day, and I'm going to sign up for a BYU Aerobics class in the evenings, that will be 2x/week. Also, I'm getting better at running! I'm planning to improve a lot in the next year and later. Right now my goal is to be able to run a 5k sometime in the summer. I used to only be able to run a half mile before stopping for breath. But I'm getting much better! Now that my lungs and heart are getting used to jogging, my body is starting to get its workout, too. I ran in the rain last week and it was Incredible! My legs started moving on their own, I didn't even have to tell them to!! I went farther than I had ever gone without stopping to walk and regain my breath. I've learned that the key is starting out slow, and pacing myself for longer distances. Same goes for starting to exercise again. It's so much easier to have the self-discipline when I only make myself go a block at first, and build it up from there. So I'm training my lungs, heart, body, and self-discipline all at once!
So, I'm really, really, really excited about springtime! I'm planning to go camping and be outside as much as I can. It snowed today, so that kind of put a damper on things, but hopefully it will be looking up from here. I'm okay with rain, but not so much snow in April. There are blossoms on the trees, which means it is definitely springtime! !!!!! Last spring term was one of the happiest times of my life, and I definitely want to appreciate this spring, too. I can't believe it's been a whole year! I feel like I've been trying to grow up too fast ever since then. That's enough, Rachel. No more growing up. I'm going to just enjoy being 18 and young and girly. That's one reason I want to exercise and be very healthy - I feel like this is the time in my life when I'll have the most energy and the best physical condition, and I want to take advantage of that, and do as much as I possibly can!
It's time for finals! I have two this Saturday, and two I can take anytime during finals week, and one scheduled for the last day of finals, next Wednesday. I need to get ready for the two this Saturday at least, and then worry about the ones I can take next week. I should prepare for 3 finals before this weekend's over, and save the other two for next week.
Well, I'd better go plan my study schedule.
